Tip: Nutmeg

Freshly grated whole nutmeg is more aromatic and flavorful than preground nutmeg. Use a nutmeg grater, which can be purchased in a gourmet shop. Whole nutmeg will keep its flavor for years if stored in a jar in your spice cabinet.
