Florida DT Damien Jacobs does not know Travis Swanson’s name. He just knows Swanson is “dirty.”
After watching film on Arkansas in preparation for Saturday’s home game (7 p.m., ESPN2), Jacobs saw plenty he did not like about the Razorbacks’ offensive linemen and called them “dirty” and “chippy.”
He specifically took issue with Swanson, the Arkansas center.
“I see a lot of stuff after the play,” Jacobs said. “He’s a good athlete after the play. He makes you want to do something to him. We’re gonna have to try to keep our temper and keep cool on that.”
It could get interesting Saturday night. Jacobs is 6-foot-3, 290 pounds, and Swanson is 6-foot-5, 315 pounds. They should be matched up with each other frequently.
Jacobs, a senior, has never faced Arkansas or Swanson. Jacobs transferred to the Gators from East Mississippi Community College and began playing last season. Swanson, also a senior, is a four-year starter for the Razorbacks.
