Group Collecting Prom Dresses For Foster Kids

POSTED: 11:54 am EST March 1, 2006

Some formal dresses are getting a second chance to go to the prom.

The Foster Care Support Foundation (FCSF) will conduct its annual Prom Clinic for foster teens this Sunday, March 5, 2006.

“We need long and short formals, especially in larger sizes, and coordinating accessories like evening bags, dressy shoes, and jewelry to go with the dresses,” said J.B. Booth, FCSF Prom Clinic Committee Member.

“The dresses should be gently worn, in style, and dry cleaned.”

This Sunday, high school girls in foster care will go to the Foundation’s center in Roswell to pick out a prom dress. They’re all free.

“It’s something very exciting for them,” J.B. said.

“These are girls who were placed in foster homes because of neglect and or abuse. Having a pretty dress for that special event in every teen’s life means so much to them. And we can help.”

Deadline for donating dresses and accessories is Friday, March 3.

Contact J.B. Booth for details – 404.885.8533 or jb.booth@equifax.com.

It’s not too late for foster teens to sign up if you haven’t already.

Call Rachel @ 770-641-9591 or email at Rachel@fostercares.org to sign up your foster teen.
