This lecture features author Lydia Davis, the 2013 recipient of the Man Booker International Award, a MacArthur Fellow, a National Book Award finalist and a Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters. She won the 2011 French-American Foundation Translation Prize for her translation of "Madame Bovary" and the 2003 French-American Foundation Translation Prize for her translation of Marcel Proust's "Swann's Way."" Her "Collected Stories" was one of the most acclaimed books of 2009. Davis lives near Albany, N.Y.
