Neal Boortz

Neal Boortz was born on April 6, 1945 in Bryn Mawr, Pa., before his family moved to Texas.

The son of a U.S. Marines pilot, Neal moved constantly and lived in several places, including Hawaii, California, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida

He graduated from high school in Pensacola, Fla., in 1963 before enrolling in Texas A&M University. He graduated from A&M in 1967 and decided to move to Atlanta while visiting his parents, who had settled down in Georgia.

Neal decided to obtain a law degree, which he did in 1977. He began practicing law and continued to do so until 1992. While also practicing law, Neal worked in Atlanta as a radio talk show host, hitting the airwaves in 1969.

In 1993, he moved to WSB Radio/750 AM, where he engaged listeners with a daily talk show. In 1999, the show was syndicated throughout the country, meaning Neal is now heard live every on radio stations from Alaska to Florida. He has 4 million listeners and counting.

Because he is easily bored, Neal has always managed to hold two jobs. Before settling into a dual career as a lawyer and radio personality, he worked several occupations, including work as a jewelry salesman, carpet buyer, insurance agent, truck loader, postal worker, speechwriter and auditor.

Neal lives in the north metro area during the week and southwest Florida during the weekends. He enjoys golf and riding in hot air balloons.

He also enjoys writing. His first book, "The Terrible Truth About Liberals," is in its sixth printing.

In his political life, he is a Libertarian. He is married and has one daughter.
