Clark Howard on sunscreen: 'Get it done for your body and wallet'

ATLANTA — We’ve all been there.

What kind of sunscreen should we buy?

Do you make your choice based off reviews? Brand? Price?

According to Channel 2 Consumer Advisor Clark Howard, the amount of money you pay for your sunscreen has nothing to do with how well it will protect your skin.

According to Consumer Report, you’ll get great results and get the best deal if you buy Walmart’s private label, Equate, or Trader Joe’s private label.

“Both of these products tend to cost somewhere from $5, to $6, to $7, depending on which version you buy,” Howard said. “They protect you very well.”

Howard suggests buying something that is broad spectrum and has a high SPF number when looking for sunscreen.

One of the most important things you want is a good price, Howard says.
