Historic Oakland Foundation restores African American burial grounds

A $300,000 restoration is planned for Oakland Cemetery in Grant Park. The nonprofit Historic Oakland Foundation is still seeking funding for the project to restore 3.5 acres of historic African American burial grounds. The nonprofit used ground penetrating radar last fall to locate unmarked graves. Donations to the three-phase project can be made online.

Hank Aaron talks One on One with Jocelyn Dorsey

Hank and Billye Aaron founded the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation in 1995. The foundation enables college and university students to pursue their dreams through scholarships. Since the program's inception, 80 college students have received partial tuition scholarships of up to $4,000 of supplement loans, grants and other subsidies needed for satisfying their financial obligation for a semester or a year.

Atlanta Jewish Film Festival celebrates 17 years of storytelling

The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival will show 75 films from all over the world covering topics ranging from history to comedy and sports. The festival runs now through February 15 at seven venues all over Greater Atlanta.
