Hempstead, NY -- (Sports Network) - Charles Jenkins poured in a career-high 35 points to lift the Hofstra Pride over the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks by an 88-81 final in overtime of a Colonial Athletic Association battle.

Cornelius Vines added 17 points for Hofstra (20-10, 11-7 CAA), which reached the 20-win plateau for the fourth time in five seasons.

Montez Downey had 21 points in the heart-breaking loss for UNC-Wilmington (7-24, 3-15). Chad Tomko posted 15 points and six assists for the Seahawks, who got 12 points and 13 rebounds from Kevon Moore.

Hofstra connected on 50 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half and led 38-33 at intermission.

UNC Wilmington was able to tie the score at 77-77 and send the game to overtime thanks to a three-pointer by Johnny Wolf with 19 seconds remaining in regulation.

In the extra session, the Pride hit 3-of-4 shots from the floor and 5-of-7 free throws.

Jenkins, who is just a sophomore, scored his 1,000th career point in the clash.
