Dawson Renounces WBC Light Heavyweight Title

Mexico City, Mexico -- (Sports Network) - Chad Dawson is stepping down from the WBC and relinquishing his title, WBC president Jose Sulaiman announced Friday.

Dawson contacted the WBC to inform that he will not fight against Adrian Diaconu for the undisputed light heavyweight championship and, therefore, is handing over the title to the Romanian.
